Microsoft Power Platform
Power Platform consulting for business processes
What a Power Platform consultant does, and when this approach fits your organisation.
From business process to working solution
Microsoft Power Platform is a set of tools for building business apps, automating recurring work, structuring data and applying AI in practical ways. My job as a Power Platform consultant is to connect that technology to the way the work actually goes at your place. The starting point is usually a process leaning on Excel, email, paper forms or retyping between systems. First we look at the steps, the roles, the exceptions and which information is needed where. The technology comes after: Power Apps for the environment your team works in, Power Automate for actions and approvals, Dataverse for data in one secure place, and Microsoft 365 for the connection with Teams, Outlook and SharePoint.
When does Power Platform fit?
This approach works for SMEs and family businesses, professional services firms and larger organisations that want to make better use of their existing Microsoft environment. Think of job sheets, inspections, client intake, compliance reviews, loan applications, file management and internal approvals. Not every problem calls for a large application. Sometimes one focused automation is enough; sometimes you need a connected app with roles, statuses, documents and reporting. We make that call upfront, because building a simple need in an unnecessarily complex way is one of the most expensive mistakes available.
Design, delivery and management
I work as an independent Senior Power Platform Consultant and architect, and I do the process analysis, the design and the build myself. My background in tax, finance and professional services helps most in processes where deadlines, controls, files and responsibilities carry weight. I build in your own Microsoft 365 environment, with attention to permissions, security, maintenance and transferability. Practical AI can be part of the workflow: reading documents, recognising information or preparing a next step. The check and the decision stay with an employee. The aim isn't an isolated technical experiment, but a process where information, tasks and status come together in one place — working first, better after.
